It's to no surprise there has been a discernible amount of so many unarmed black men by police in various circumstances. Garnering attention that brings in discussions about police reform especially following the death of George Floyd in 2020.

However, it’s not the first nor will it be the last we will hear about law enforcement unlawfully killing of black people. It’s important to be aware and learn of these social issues even if they aren’t directly affecting us personally. It shows a level of empathy and compassion.

Although, progress and being hyper aware are nevertheless positive. We have to remember the root cause of this problem is very much a complicated issue that is heavily intertwined with history.

We have to acknowledge and remember the names of those we lost, not just a mere statistic.
